Almanacfor Wanderburg Unofficial

About this site

The Almanac for Wanderburg is an unofficial, fan-made planner and reference for Wanderburg. Wanderburg, its name and its artwork belong to Randwerk. This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by Randwerk or Sidekick Publishing. Its screenshots, clips and art come from the official press kit (credits); the site's own wordmark is not the game's logo. If you enjoy the game, buy it on Steam.

What each page does

  • Planner: build a castle and see its damage, survivability and boss kill times. Your build saves in this browser, and "Copy share link" gives a URL to send to a friend.
  • Guide: how runs work, advice for your first runs, bosses, Overtime, captains, luck and unlock costs.
  • Modules, Captains & Crew and Artifacts: everything you can equip, with stats and sources.
  • Bosses & Maps: boss HP per map, resistances, attacks and map modifiers.
  • Patches: the official change log, so you can tell when a number might be stale.

How the planner calculates

  • Paper DPS is damage × shots × bonuses ÷ cycle time, assuming every shot hits one target. Area damage, pierce, chain lightning and procs are not counted.
  • Cooldowns use the formula traced from the game code: max(floor, base × slot factor ÷ (1 + cooldown rating)), with floors of 0.5 s for abilities and 0.1 s for autos. An attack can't restart while it's still running, so a cycle is never shorter than the attack itself.
  • Huntress's slower abilities and all attack-speed bonuses are applied after that formula. That order is the planner's assumption; nobody has traced it.
  • Upgrade cards add their core stat plus one random optional stat. "Expected" rarity weights each card by the odds at your luck.
  • Bonuses from different sources multiply (type artifact × captain × slot booster × Frost Orb); bonuses of the same type add. Nobody has traced the game's real stacking order.
  • Attack-speed bonuses (Huntress, Campfire, Power Coupling) add together and divide the auto-attack interval.
  • Ram, summons, mines, burn zones and area abilities depend on driving, pathing and how many enemies are inside the area. The planner marks them "not estimated" instead of guessing.
  • Community builds load mid-run: about 4 upgrade cards per module.
  • Rank-up cards add their listed values on top of the chassis's base stats for that rank.

Where the numbers come from

Search results for this game are crowded with AI-generated "wikis" that invent content. Game numbers here come from official patch notes or datamined game files; strategy tips and builds come from players and are marked as such. Every entry carries a confidence tag:

KindSourceVerdict
OfficialSteam store page, Steam news and patch notes, achievement dataTrustworthy but thin. Patch notes give some exact numbers; there are no base stat tables.
DataminedSteam guide "The Complete Wanderburg Reference"The best single source. Its numbers come from the 0.9.8 game files and match the official patch notes on nearly every spot check (two known differences are noted in the data).
Dataminedwanderburg.playertome.comTracks 0.9.14. The only source for per-rarity upgrade-card values; agrees with the Steam guide almost everywhere.
Game codeWanderburgDamageStats modReverse-engineered the cooldown, size, speed and ram formulas from the game itself.
PlayersSteam discussions, including developer repliesGood for builds and strategy. Player numbers are anecdotal.
Fabricatedwanderburg-wiki.wiki, wanderburgwiki.liveInvented captains, weapons, biomes and a co-op mode. Nothing from these sites is used.
Emptywanderburg.net, wanderburg-game.wiki, wanderburgwiki.wikiSearch-engine filler with no real data.

Most game numbers come from two community datamines: the Steam guide "The Complete Wanderburg Reference" and wanderburg.playertome.com. The formulas come from the WanderburgDamageStats mod.

Quick fake-wiki test: the real game has 21 modules, 14 captains, 3 chassis (Wanderturm, Spiderburg, Tankenburg) and 9 maps. A site naming a captain, weapon or biome outside that list is making it up.

Privacy

  • No accounts and no ads.
  • Analytics. Google Analytics records which pages you open and which planner options you pick (for example "mounted Side Cannon"), using its own cookies. Google signals and advertising features are switched off, and your builds and share codes are never sent. Visitors in the EU, UK, Switzerland, Brazil and Canada are asked first; elsewhere it's on unless you turn it off or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal.
  • Your build is saved in your own browser's storage so it's there next time. It never leaves your device unless you copy a share link.
  • A share link holds the whole build inside the link. Anyone you send it to sees that build and nothing else.
  • Like most websites, the site is delivered through Cloudflare, which handles the connection between your browser and the server.

Known gaps

  • Several balance changes since 0.9.8 were announced without numbers (Side Ballista, Turret Layer, Spiderburg speed and others).
  • Lightning Mage's auto damage: the in-game stats page and the datamine say 25; playertome still says 20. The planner uses 25.
  • Steam build 25478212 (23 Sep) shipped without patch notes; anything it changed is unknown.
  • Hit coverage for area attacks, summon uptime and the ram speed curve aren't published anywhere.
